In recent years, "fast charging" has become a core need for the general public, and fast charging technologies for devices such as new energy vehicles and smartphones have become widespread. At the same time, charging safety issues have gradually become a focus of the industry. As a small component, micro switches have become a key defense line for fast charging safety due to their precise triggering characteristics and reliable protection functions in fast charging systems.

The function of a microswitch

During fast charging, abnormal high temperatures, current overload, and poor interface contact are the three major problems that are more concentrated. The design of micro switches specifically avoids these risks from the source. Take the fast charging station for new energy vehicles as an example. A micro switch is installed in the charging gun interface. When the user uses the charging gun to charge, the micro switch will first detect the insertion depth of the interface. Only when the insertion is in place and the contact area meets the requirements for large current conduction will the switch send a power-on signal, avoiding intermittent connection and disconnection caused by loose insertion. If the charging gun is accidentally pulled out or the interface is displaced during charging, the micro switch will quickly cut off the current to prevent safety accidents caused by repeated plugging and unplugging.

Interface protection is one of the major functions of micro switches. In addition, micro switches also play an important role in overload protection in fast charging circuits. The current fast charging power has reached a new height. In the event of a short circuit or abnormal load, traditional protection devices may lag behind. However, micro switches adapted for fast charging have highly sensitive designs that can monitor current fluctuations in the circuit at any time. When the current exceeds the safety threshold, the switch contacts will quickly disconnect to prevent circuit overload and burnout.

The heat resistance and stability of micro switches make fast charging safer. During the charging process, the charging interface and lines will generate a certain amount of heat. In fast charging scenarios, the contacts and reeds inside the micro switches are often made of high-temperature resistant materials, allowing them to work stably within a certain range and ensuring the reliability of contact conduction.

conclusion

Micro switches can provide a guarantee for the safety system of fast charging, effectively reducing the maintenance costs and safety risks of fast charging equipment.
