Introduction

Microwave ovens are household appliances that are frequently used on a daily basis, while elevators are the most commonly used public equipment in our daily lives. Once the door of a microwave oven is closed, it starts working immediately, and once it is opened, it stops immediately. The elevator door automatically opens when it detects something. All these are due to the functioning of micro switches.
What is a micro switch?
A micro switch is a quick-action switch that can complete the contact of contacts and connect the circuit through the transmission elements such as buttons, levers, and rollers under the action of external mechanical force in an instant.
The working principle of a micro switch
A micro witch mainly consists of an outer shell, contacts (COM, NC, NO), actuator, and internal mechanisms (spring, quick-action mechanism). The outer shell is usually made of plastic or fiber materials to provide protection and insulation. Without external force, current flows from the COM terminal, out from the NC terminal, and the circuit is connected (or disconnected, depending on the design). When external force is applied, the external force triggers the actuator to act on the internal spring, causing the spring to start bending and storing elastic potential energy. When the bending reaches a certain degree, the stored energy is released instantaneously, causing the spring to bounce at an extremely fast speed, separating the contacts from the NC terminal and connecting them to the NO terminal. This process takes a very short time and can effectively reduce arcs and extend the lifespan of the switch. After the external force disappears, the spring returns to its original position, and the contacts return to the NC state.
conclusion
Micro switches, with their small size, short stroke, high force, high precision, and long lifespan, play an irreplaceable role in household appliances, industrial control equipment, automobiles, and electronic products.
